Is it just my inquizitive nature or is this billboard poster indirectly inferring a packet of Walkers Crisps is just as healthy as a piece of bread? Are they trying to say “Hey kids… don’t bother with bread anymore - just eat crisps!”

Late train entertainment

February 25, 2006, 12:59 am

Northern Rail surpassed themselves tonight. Last train back and rather than drunken blokes in their 50’s, I had a pair of 20-something female lesbians all over each other in the seats directly in front of me. I didn’t know where to look (well I did but politeness meant it was inappropriate to stare and drool…).

I was only interrupted when some woman passed out half on the platform and half still in the train at Padgate station… It was obviously a case of legs failure due to alcohol. The journey was well worth the £6.30 train fare…

Demolition

February 23, 2006, 2:13 pm

For those who don’t know, Trent University is right in the centre of Nottingham. Last year just two blocks away, the old Mechanics Institute building was demolished. Every few weeks I went back and re-took a photo from the same vantage point.

Want to see a building being gradually demolished? I’ve got the animated gif down to 890Kb so dial up people download it here, broadband people click the link below…

I <3 Sewers!

February 21, 2006, 9:41 pm

I can see why some jobs are unfilled and vacant… one I came across tonight required someone with a Civil Engineering degree and the applicant “must have a genuine interest in drainage”.

Hmmm, how many people do you know with posters of sewers and photo’s of manhole covers on their walls?!!! Some managers don’t have a clue…

Structural Error

February 21, 2006, 3:39 pm

Hmmm not a high enough factor of safety added into the design of the mezzanine floor me thinks… the structural engineer who designed it will have some explaining to do! It’s ironic that it collapsed during a health & safety meeting though.
