Gardening Blog
April 30, 2006, 10:00 pm
I’ve decided i’m going to take a picture from the same vantage point every month. The grass seed I spread a month ago is just about starting to become grass and the addition of some new steps up to the main garden I think works well. The plants in general don’t seem to be suffering too much from being moved around a couple of weeks ago, the Berberis on the left being the exception.
Examples of wildlife seem to be visiting regularly, Mr Squirrel i’ve discovered lives in one of the big trees a few gardens away. In addition there have been some bird visitors, the only problem i’ve discovered is the motion sensor on the CCTV camera can’t sense animals so small. So i’ll have to have a think about what to do about that. However from watching the NatureCAM channel on tv I can report at least one Great Tit has been nibbling on my fat balls - they’re full of energy apparently!

Beer Taxi
April 28, 2006, 11:38 amFor me, the end of many a good night out. I was early for the train on wednesday which didn’t bother me too much because I do like looking at the wooden vaulted ceilings at the station. I’ll have to do a proper Manchester Architecture post about it… there isn’t too much timber architecture around.

Downtime
April 28, 2006, 10:41 amThanks for the messages of “your website is broke!”, my hosting company upgraded the server to mySQL 4, with FastCGI PHP4 and PHP5 as well yesterday afternoon. No idea what on earth that is, but there you go. Not sure of the problem either but it only took half an hour to sort it out once the hosts were made aware of the fault. They’re very efficient!

Ickle’s Passion Wagon - Prize Question
April 25, 2006, 11:51 pmMy passion wagon is what Sabs called the idea. Leyland National’s used to be everywhere, all over the country. If you’re lucky you still might catch one around. With an endless source of parts, a bus like this could be yours for anything between £200 - £5000. Pah! to those people who travel around the country in cramped VW camper vans… what they need is a converted bus!!! You could even get a three piece suite in there if you ripped out the old seats!!
So for the topical quiz. First person to post a comment identifying not just the city but where in this particular city the photo I found on the internet was taken wins a drink of their choice paid for by me. There are many clues - I recognised it straight away.

Choons!
April 23, 2006, 1:37 pmI think everyone would agree the choice of South as a club to go to was an inspired decision… Mr Boon was on top form playing his choons.

Customisation
April 22, 2006, 1:31 pmI’m debating beefing up my little old Almera. It’s going to need a little respaying when the planned work is finished. So now i’m now debating spending another £100 or so and customising it up to look like the Almera SRi.
Shouldn’t be too difficult to do, there should be loads of them in scrap yards. All i’d need is a small roof spoiler, and to spray up the bumpers to match the rest of the car as i’ve already got the alloys on. I remember enough paint for a whole TR7 sized car was £65 when I resprayed that into tasteful black so it shouldn’t be too expensive to paint both bumpers and the whole drivers side (that was vandalised a few years ago).
