Princes Parkrun, Liverpool

I’ve been seeing how my body reacts to being asked to run 5Km over the last month by running up to the nearby village of Bold Heath and back home a couple of times a week. Times are consistently lower and so this morning I had a go at my first Parkrun at the event in Liverpool. I was 79th out of 94 which isn’t too bad considering i’ve only ran the distance 4 times previously. My next target will be to run 5Km in under 30 minutes which I think should be achievable in the near future.

Great Central Railway (Ruddington)

I was just a few miles away from Ruddington, south of Nottingham and as I knew there was some sort of a heritage centre there I thought i’d go and see. It just so happened that today there was a small classic car and bus show on as well as trips on the preserved railway from Ruddington towards Loughborough behind a Class 47. It was all free as well (except the trips on the train!).
