This is the age of the train…

I much prefer the older trains to the new stuff that has been introducted over the last few years. Chunky arm rests that don’t move, not much in the way of a head rest – I wasn’t even bothered about not having a plug socket for my laptop. The comfort from ride quality in a mark III coach in my opinion is rather impressive – arguably superior. I’ve been a fan of the old InterCity 125‘s ever since the days of Super Apex Return tickets from Warrington to London for £25! I haven’t been on one for years…maybe 15 years. It was a pleasurable journey from Kettering to Long Eaton.

The Mark IV’s are very comfortable and a better ride than mark III’s some how something went very wrong with the pendolinos, and the newer DMU’s as they are so much worse than than the 1970,80′s ex BR trains
